Historical review The Basic Schools of Sports Training, institutions created by the Venezuelan state in order to provide protection from the educational and academic point of view, to all those student-athletes, with a defined profile of sports talents, that is to say with more physical conditions. technical-morphological above the professional average, with the aim of promoting its total academic pursuit. They were born in 1986, at the initiative of Professor "Paco" Diez, president of the IND at that time, who adapted the Cuban Sports Development Schools and those of other countries, created this Venezuelan model. The first one that was created that year was located in Caracas, then in 1987 the Lara State emerged, with initial athletics, basketball, cycling, judo, weightlifting and fencing sports in order to make the state a sports power and create the seedbed with a view to the upcoming Olympic cycles. The first directive was formed by Prof. Alba Marlene of Lisbon (Director) Reinaldo Azuaje (Sports Coordinator). First works from 1987 to 1992 in the Lyceum "Mario Briceño Iragorry", then it is transferred to the "Miguel José Sanz" where it works close and great academic and logistical drawbacks. A long struggle for their own headquarters begins, achieving a plot of land on the Av. Of the Airport behind the UPEL, starting construction. In 1995 he moved completely to the new headquarters still under construction, where he works to this day. In 2001, on the occasion of the 2001 National Games, the gym and the dining room were built.
