The National Experimental University of the Armed Forces opened its doors to students, in Punto Fijo, on September 19, 2006, with an enrollment of 1000 students. And it was inaugurated by the President of the Republic Hugo Rafael Chávez Frías, on November 5 of the same year. The headquarters and facilities were transferred by PDVSA, with the support of the CRP workers for their progressive growth. Currently the university has 1,800 students and it is estimated that 2,000 students enter the university for the 2008-2009 entry process.
