In Plaza Caracas, in one of the Torres del Silencio of the Simón Bolívar Center, in the heart of Caraqueño, is the mural from 1954, called "Tribute to American Man", Venetian glass mosaic, made by the Ecuadorian artist Oswaldo Guayasamin, of 30 square meters, work to which I dedicate five months, with days of 16 hours a day. Guayasamín represents Ecuador's most important 20th century artist. His first works are framed within the indigenismo, the rest of his production has a very personal symbolist aesthetic, characterized by the use of neutral colors and resounding forms at the service of an art whose ultimate goal is the denunciation of social injustices. In 2013, the embassy of Ecuador in Venezuela, together with Fundapatrimonio, the Capital District Government and the Simón Bolívar Center, recovered the mural.
