KAVAC The origin of its name comes from the bird known as Kavac, which means Royal Parrot, The experience of visiting this small town located in the western part of Kamarata, Kavac is a jewel guarded by the Auyantepuy, one of the largest and best known plateaus from Canaima National Park, in Bolívar state, and although it is famous for its caves, for many the place looks more like a great gorge from which crystal clear water emerges at a height of more than 25 meters. However, its attraction is not only the cave or gorge, but the Kavac camp in general is of great interest to tourists. The place where the ship lands is known as the Kavac camp, half an hour from the Kamarata community, where the inhabitants, some two thousand indigenous people dedicated to tourism and crafts, provide themselves with food and basic utensils. The fauna of the Kamarata Valley are also part of the charm: cari care birds, the king zamuro, tanagers, miner toads, monkeys, palm bears and parrots, are some of the species that you can find in Kavac, not to mention floral varieties endemic such as drosera roraimae and moriche, utricularia and brochinnia reducta
