Interesting place that tells an important chapter in the history of the Venezuelan War of Independence in the 19th century. This is the death of José Tomás Boves who died by the spear of General Zaraza in the battle of Urica on December 5, 1814.

This square was made as a tribute to the Battle of Urica in the Edo. Anzoátegui, where José Tomás Boves died, one of the cruelest Spanish Realists of the time, and was killed by the lance of Pedro Zaraza, on this site, in the square says the historical phrase of Pedro Zaraza, where he tells Boves: Here the zaraza is broken or the nozzle is over, and although that battle was lost, the nozzle is over.
