National Archives of Venezuela

The General Archive of the Nation is the institution responsible for the custody, custody, conservation and disclosure of the Documentary Heritage, as well as the governing body of the National Archives System, in order to preserve the historical memory and culture of our nation as established in Presidential Decree No. 6713. Therefore, the AGN is the body responsible for creating, guiding and coordinating the National Archives System, being the rector of the National Archival Activity. In addition, it promotes the normalization of all the processes of archives such as preservation, conservation, and safeguard of the National Documentary Heritage, promoting the development and supervision of archival management throughout the national territory: as a public service to organized communities and social movements , citizens, citizens, bodies, entities and missions of the public administration and private sectors.

The General Archive of the Nation and the National History Center, entities attached to the Ministry of Popular Power for Culture, present the project of the Zamora digital archival catalog and its Epoch, an initiative in the archival and historical area that will allow the Venezuelan people, through the use of information technologies applied to archival processes and good practices in the field of socialization of documentary heritage and historical memory, access to the transcribed and digitized documentation existing in the important documentary funds protected by the Archive General of the Nation, on the figure Ezequiel Zamora and its historical time between 1840 and 1863.
