In the town of Tronconero, 10 km north of the town of Guacara, within the San Esteban National Park, there is a place named Piedras Pintadas or Vigirima. Place where the Carib Indians left a sample of their culture written on the stones. It is a site of petroglyphs, these are stones in which they have carved a series of anthropomorphic, zoomorphic, geomorphic motifs, among others. The knowledge about the site is due to the work of various researchers such as Arístides Rojas (1878), Luis R. Oramas (1939), José María Cruxent (1952) and Raúl Alvarado (1958).

From Guacara, you take the Negro Primero distributor towards the town of Vigirima, when you reach the Tronconero sector, cross to the left, after crossing the river, you reach a covered field and cross to the right, follow the path and it takes you to the Piedras Pintadas Park, here you begin to walk until you reach the most important site in Venezuela, a reference to the petroglyphs made by the Arawak aborigines

It is an archaeological site that must be known, for the wonders it contains, which must be guarded and protected.
