The cathedral of Ciudad Bolívar was designed by the engineer Bartolomé de Amphoux in 1767. On the south side wall of the Cathedral the general was shot Chief Manuel Piar on October 16, 1817 at 5:00 p.m. It has the highest Indian cathedral order in Venezuela, in which the patrons of Angostura Santo are enthroned Tomas Apostle and Our Lady of the Snows.
