Khách Sạn Đông Triều Hotel

My fiancé and I stayed at this hotel in Halong Bay Area for 4 nights and were quite comfortable. The staff gave us fresh towels daily along with cleaning our bedding (which we didn’t feel necessary, but appreciated). We arrived very early (2am) and the owners offered us alternative accommodation at the neighbouring hotel “Jing Jing” to sleep for a couple hours while they prepared our room.nOnce we were able to check in our room was spotless. I gave 4 stars because there was no soap in our room and when we tried to ask, the older lady at the front desk didn’t speak English, so we just bought our own bar. Also, we read there would be a kettle in our room (there was a communal one by the kitchen we used a couple times), because the sink in our room wasn’t fully connected so would pour water on the floor until I kinda fixed it into a better spot in the wall (hard to explain but wasn’t that big of a deal) along with the shower didn’t always have hot water, 4/5 times it did! Those are just the little things that would have given 5 stars. The one lady staff member who was almost always at the front desk was very nice, always smiling at us and willing to help us, and let us keep some things in the fridge.nThe ac worked wonderfully!!nThe pillows were very comfortable, just a sheet on the bed (sometimes it’s hard for me to not sleep with a blanket, so if this troubles you maybe bring an extra?), and the bed was on the firmer side.nTv had some great channels (for rainy afternoons).nThe location is great for catching a quick taxi to the ferry, about 5-10 mins. Which is why we were staying here, for some touring of the islands. Aside from that it’s mostly hotels, lots of development, no grocery stores but a vinmart about 20 minute walk away, a couple restaurants but not much else. Taxis are cheap so it’s easy enough if you want to explore!
