Watch the pump meter carefully. I asked for 3 litres, was given 1 litre and still charged for 3.

They charged 40,000VND for 2 liters of gasoline which fills a scooter up halfway. This was more than enough for a full afternoon of riding about the island and heading up and down the cannon fort.

We never filled up at this gas station, but instead got scammed by people who stand just 50 meters before on the road and try to charge 70,000 for a liter (after 10 minutes of yelling and an attempt to pour out petrol from the bike back in their bottle we settled for half) - don't fall in the same trap!
