Noi Bai International Airport (IATA: HAN, ICAO: VVNB), the biggest airport in northern Vietnam, serves the capital city of Hanoi. The airport is located 45 kilometers from the citynHanoi, that is the capital of Vietnam, which is the largest airport in Vietnam in terms of total capacity.It is also the second busiest airport in Vietnam after Tan Son Nhat International Airport. It is the main airport serving Hanoi, replacing the role of Gia Lam Airport. The airport consists of two passenger terminals. Terminal 1 serves domestic flights, and the newly built Terminal 2 (inaugurated on 4 January 2015) serves all international flights to and from Hanoi.

Small cosy airport....dire need of streamlining the working procedure. Endless wait to get Visa on arrival...but the people are awesome and helpful.

The domestic airport at Hanoi is a very busy and crowded airport. Inspite of all this the passengers are cleared without any delay. The airport has got almost all the facilities. The washrooms are clean and there are facilities for drying the hands with hot air. Good places for eating different types of food. The security is very strict and efficient. Even the shoes are asked to be removed while making the security check.

This is a medium size efficient airport. Came to Hanoi in 1994 and the change is really great. This airport was done between Vietnam and Japan using Japanese ODA loan, that's why it reminds me a lot of Haneda Airport in Tokyo.nnCounters are well distributed, has a lot of natural light, and it looks spotlessly.nn(For those buying souvenirs as in any airport of the world: keep in mind that prices here are 20% to 30% more than in the city)nnWell done Hanoi!!

Defenetely not enough place to seat for people waiting and 100k/5$ coffee at the coffeeshop there... That's the price of 2 meals in town. That kind of scam makes you want to get out of Hanoi even faster than the pollution did.nnEdit : I bought a coffee for 20k (1$) during the flight. Incredible. And Ive eaten pho at 50k(2$) past the security checks.nnSo avoid the first coffeeshop and you're good.
