The best local food, famouse place from the past to present still

This is a local eatery that caters mainly for locals. It owners are Teochew chinese and there serve a mainly Mekong Delta staples such as Sour Fish Soup (Canh chua) Fish in claypot (Cá kho tộ) without the clay pot. Braised pigs trotters etc. In most of Vietnam the Canh chua may be too sweet and lacks balance. However here, sour plums are added which gives it a more subtle taste. The fish in claypot was caramelised nicely and not too salty. The rest of the food is good as well. The decor is basic but cleam without air-conditioning. This is a traditional restaurant and doesn't really cater for the western tourist and will suit the adventurous.
