The history of construction and development of the Faculty of Physics in particular and of the Hanoi Pedagogical University in general started from October 11, 1951 under the name of the Advanced Pedagogy School, led by Professor. Le Van Thiem is the first Principal. Due to the situation of the country at war, the College of Advanced Education temporarily operated in Nanning (China). The forerunner of the Department of Physics was then the Department of Mathematics - The Reason Professor. Ngu Nhu Kon Tum is in charge of and then Ban Li - Hoa. The teaching staff at that time included teachers: Le Van Thiem, Nguyen Xien, Nguyen Canh Toan and Duong Trong Bai. The number of students of course I of the school has 27 people divided into three boards: Math and Reasoning Department (7 students); and Ban Li - Hoa (11 students) and Ban Hoa - Sinh (9 students).nnAt the end of 1954, the North was completely liberated. The School of Advanced Education moved from Nanning (China) to Hanoi, took over the campus of the old university based at 19 Le Thanh Tong - Hanoi. changed its name to University of Science Pedagogy. At this time, the Physics subject was enhanced by 4 teaching staff, Professor. Vu Nhu Canh, Ngo Quoc Quynh, Hoang Huu Do and Nguyen Van Lieu.nnOn October 22, 1956, the Government decided to establish two separate schools: University of Pedagogy and University of General, Faculty of Math and Reason for both schools. The excellent students are retained to supplement the faculty of the faculty. Session 2: Dam Trung Don, Pham Viet Trinh, Phan Van Thich; Session 3 included: Nguyen Van Hieu, Pham Quy Tu, Vu Thanh Khiet; Course 4 includes: Pham Duy Hien, Nguyen Thuc Huy, Nguyen Khang Cuong, Nguyen Huu Xuyen, Vu Quang and Vo Van Thu. In 1957, there were more teachers from high schools to work in the faculty such as Vu Truong Du, Hoang Quy. Experts in the period 1956 - 1958 included: Nguyen Van Phuc, Tran Huy Lac, Tran Van Hoi and Vu Dinh Chu. In the first period, the teaching staff of the two schools cooperated to teach students of the two schools at 19 Le Thanh Tong lecture hall.nnIn the 1958-1959 school year, the Pedagogical University moved to Dich Hope commune (Tu Liem district, Hanoi), to receive the facilities of the Secondary School of Education. The Department of Physics was established. The first Head of the Physics Department is Mr. Hoang Quy, the teaching staff include: Vu Nhu Canh, Hoang Quy, Pham Duy Hien, Nguyen Thuc Huy, Vu Quang, Vo Van Thu, Vu Truong Du, Pham Quy Tu and Dao Van Phuc (moved back).nnIn 1959, teachers Bui Trong Tuan, Nguyen Van Khanh, Le Nguyen Long from the Intermediate School of Education and teachers Le Van, Vu Dao Chinh from high school transferred to the Faculty of Physics. By 1961 there were teachers Nguyen Duc Tham, Nguyen Trong Bao and Luu Van Tao from the Vocational School of Agriculture and Rural Development. Along with the school's expansion, the construction of the four-storey A zone began, and the laboratories were installed with experimental equipment for training. Graduates with excellent grades are continuously retained in the faculty: course V (1956-1959) including Ho Trong Mai, Tran Van Quynh, Le Trong Tuong, Le Chan Hung, Nguyen Thi Bach; course VI (1957 - 1960) included Nguyen Trong Thua, Cao Minh Thi, Nguyen Quyen; Session VII (1958 - 1960) had Nguyen Huu Minh, Do Khac Huong, Nguyen Ba Trem (transferred from the army) at that time, Mr. Hoang Quy was sent to practice in the Soviet Union. In the school year 1959 - 1960, Mr. Vu Truong Du was appointed to be the Head of the Faculty.nnThe Mathematics Department was established by Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan as Chairman. The number of officers and employees of the department is now more than 30 people. From 1960-1961 the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics was divided into two faculties: the Department of Physics was chaired by Mr. Duong Trong Bai.
