This was such a fun way to get out of the hustle and bustle of Hanoi and see something so unique and different. In less than 10 minutes from where we got on our bikes we were on an island with no traffic, incredible views, and super fun bike paths. Minh shared a ton of knowledge with us and then took us to his farm for the most incredible lunch! It was definitely my favorite day in Hanoi! Highly recommend!!

Who knew such an oasis existed 5 minutes from the Old Quarter in Hanoi?! Cycling across Long Bien bridge and onto banana island, observing farms and eating straight from the garden - If you want to experience “local” just beyond the hustle and bustle of Hanoi, this is for you.nMinh’s tour was exceptional in every way – from simplifying the logistics (seamless pick-up and drop-off), to the quality of the bikes, the ride/views, the conversation, the food quality and quantity, and Minh himself! Thoughtful in design, Minh minimized the amount of riding in Hanoi traffic (less than 5 minutes on either end) and ensured we felt comfortable as we exited and entered the city. I highly recommend this tour and, personally, cannot wait to take another Anytrails adventure.

Outstanding cultural fun, great local food, some exercise, and cool people! The city tour (long version) with AnyTrails is the most fun thing I've done in Hanoi! We went to several small spots for great food, including places most tourists don’t get to visit! We went across part of Long Bien bridge and onto a big island full of farms, banana plantations, and no traffic. On the island we even met a happy local farmer, and got to see where a lot of local fruits and vegetables are grown. It was great to feel like I was out of the city, even though it was less than 20 minutes ride from the old quarter. The island and the people we met there were so peaceful, and it was wonderful to be surrounded by nature.nnThe tour was about 30km, and it was easy and relaxing because we stopped for yummy food and drinks at a few places in addition to the farm. The route was great, the road around the shore of West Lake is pretty and traffic is not at all a problem, and on the island there were not many people and zero cars. I kind of wish we could have gone faster and had more intense exercise while biking around the lake, but as I expected the others in my group wanted a relaxing, fun, and cultural experience – and it certainly was all of those things :-)nnThe guys who operate AnyTrails are really great people! Minh is a thoughtful and wise local man who loves delicious food, nature, and cycling. Kevin, is a very fun and witty guy that has been living in Hanoi for a few years, and he has been cycling around different parts of the world for much of his life. He is a talented artist and encouraged us to make some fun temporary chalk graffiti with him under the big bridge. He speaks an impressive amount of Vietnamese, and they both seemed happy to help me learn many new words (I hope I didn’t ask too many questions). They both have heaps of interesting stories to share from their years of travel experience. It was a special one of a kind tour, and I learned a lot about Vietnam. I highly recommend it to people who love food, love nature and want to see places that most tourists don’t get to see. I think I will take some of my friends who visit me in Hanoi on this trip later this year. I don’t normally write such long reviews, but AnyTrails deserves a lot of praise. Thanks so much for the outstanding experience guys!
