Highland Homestay

We had such a great time staying at Highland Homestay. An and his family are so friendly and helpful and they made us feel so welcome. The rooms were comfortable and clean and each bed had a bug net. Even though we arrived a little later in the afternoon, they still made us dinner and the food was so delicious. We had such a good time with them! This was one of my favorite places that I have ever stayed while on vacation.nWe also had an incident the day that we left, my bag fell off of the back of my scooter on the road returning to town and was taken by the time that we realized that and returned to get it (please always make sure that your bags are securely tied to your scooter!). An and his family went above and beyond in helping me find it and get it back. Even when we thought it was gone and had moved on to the next town, An continued looking. Once he found out who had it, he took us into that village to get it back and translated for us to make sure that we didn’t have any problems. Without An, I would have lost my backpack that had everything in it.nThat just shows that they are good people that will go above and beyond to help you and make sure that you have a good time. If you want to have an amazing experience with an amazing family, go to Highland Homestay and you won’t regret it!

Great place to stay, the family is very nice! Don’t speak English, but beautiful and authentic people. Nice dorms with mosquito nets and think blankets, but the bed was very hard. Many cute animals and the kids were so sweet! Few small problems: you can hear everything from the other rooms and it was very light, I don’t know if someone forgot to switch off a light? So it really depends on how many other guests there are and if they are loud or not. Also I wanted to leave early because it was a long way to Don Vang, and I ordered breakfast at 7 am but it was ready at 8:15, it looked like a great breakfast! But I didn’t have time to eat it. Maybe it was miscommunication? They offered me a free coffee so they were really sweet, the food in general was amazing. I’m sorry I didn’t get to stay for breakfast and say a proper goodbye. I will try to come back and see them again, they were so nice! 4 generations in one house. It is amazing to have such an authentic experience, but of course the downside is that communication is difficult. Still heartily recommend to stay here! Be aware that the road to the village is very bumpy. There’s a beautiful lake nearby you should definitely check out. Oh and the best shower I had in Vietnam so far!!

Rustic charm. The lady at the reception welcomed us with a great smile and cooked and fed the 10 of us with very excellent dinner. The water heater doesn’t give a lot of hot water though and the color of water is a bit brownish. Very cozy atmosphere. love the place.

Food and people just great

A very nice homestay of Dao people, they are very kind and warm. Everything is clear here about the price, the host is really honest and we had fun to eat together with other guests. Very nice
