Tu My is one of the five sects of Dong Trang parish, was established in 1936. After the 1945 incident, the people here migrated to the South to live. In 1990, many young people from other parishes in the parish came and chose this place to make a career. Therefore, in 2008, the late father Joseph Tran Manh Quy together with relatives here applied for re-establishment of Tu My sect and was accepted. Then, when Father Antôn Trần Minh An was in charge of the parish, he began to build a Tu My Catholic Church. However, less than 7 months later, Father Anton had to move to another country.
