HTU was established under the Decision No. 318 / QD-TTg dated March 19, 2007 of the Prime Minister on the basis of merging and upgrading Ha Tinh Pedagogy College, Vinh University's branch in Ha Tinh and Ha Tinh Economic Intermediate School. The whole school has 303 staff, teachers and staff. The team of organic teachers includes 212 people, including 01 professor, 02 associate students, 24 doctors, 168 masters and 17 teachers with university degrees. The school is currently training 15 majors at college level, 22 majors at university level, not having a Master's and PhD degree. The total number of students at the school as of December 2017 was 4,136 students, of which the undergraduate system was 3,356 students, the college system was 81 students, the Lao students studied Vietnamese language were 450 students, the students of junior high school, junior high school and high school students were 217 students. Preschool system is 32 students. The University often cooperates with schools: Hanoi University of Technology; University of Construction; National Economics University, University of Social Sciences and Humanities (VNU), University of Economics (VNU) ... for training MSc.nnFrom 2007 up to now, the University has trained 12,706 students to graduate, including: University: 4,549, College: 4,617, TC: 3,540. The students who graduated from University of Technology have been making an important contribution to the comprehensive socio-economic development of Ha Tinh province and throughout the country. In addition, the University also trains quality human resources for Laos.
