In 1975, about 120 Catholics from Bui Chu and Phat Diem settled in Loi Ha hamlet, Thanh Binh commune, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. A year later Father Dam Dinh Nguyen Dinh founded GHBL Loi Ha and built a small chapel as a place of worship and prayer. In 1986, a parishioner donated a piece of land of about 470 m2 and the Loi River community moved the church to a new location. In 1990, Bishop Paul Nguyen Minh Nhat raised GHBL Loi Ha to Phu Ly Parish and appointed Father Vu Vu Binh as the first parish priest.nPeter helped stabilize the activities of the parish and together with the community of Loi Ha planned the cemetery. Throughout the past years, the parish community, the community of Loi Ha parish has been step by step growing, the activities of the organizations are going into order and stability. In 2006, Father Joseph Vu Van Truong was in charge of Loi Ha parish.
