At the end of 1965, Father Thomas Nguyen Van Sum led some Catholic families to Ngo Quyen hamlet to live and establish the Ngo Quyen religion. This time there are only 18 Catholic families with about 100 Catholics. On March 4, 1966, Father Joseph Nguyen Thanh Minh helped and encouraged Catholics in their Church to build a chapel to have a place to celebrate. On 12 December 1994, Bishop Paul Maria Nguyen Minh Nhat changed the name of the Ngo Quyen Church into Xuan Duc. Three years later, the Church's chapel was moved to the front of National Highway 1A and constructed as it is today. On March 23, 2007, Bishop Dominic Nguyen Chu Trinh raised Xuan Duc Church to the parish. In 2011, Father Joseph Tran Ngoc Tam was in charge of Xuan Duc Parish. Currently, Father Joseph and the community of Xuan Duc Parish are building a pastoral house to serve catechism and other religious activities.
