The duties and powers of the District People's Council are clearly defined in the Law on Local Government Organization in 2015 as follows:n1. In organizing and ensuring the implementation of the Constitution and laws and in the field of national defense, security and government building:na) Issuing resolutions on issues under the duties and powers of the district People's Council; nb) Decide on measures to perform defense and security tasks; measures to ensure social order and safety, fight, prevent and combat crimes and other law-breaking acts, prevent and combat bureaucracy and corruption within the scope of decentralization; measures to protect assets of agencies and organizations, protect lives, freedom, honor, dignity, property, other legitimate rights and interests of citizens in the district according to the provisions of the law the law;nc) Decide on measures to perform tasks and powers decentralized by superior state agencies; decide the decentralization to local authorities and subordinate state agencies to perform the tasks and powers of local governments in the district; nd) To elect, relieve from office and dismiss the Chairman of the People's Council, the Vice Chairman of the People's Council, the Head and the Deputy Head of the People's Council; elect, dismiss and dismiss presidents of People's Committees, Vice Chairmen of People's Committees and District Commissioners; elected, dismissed and dismissed the District People's Court Assessors;nd) Taking confidence votes, giving confidence votes to persons holding positions elected by the People's Councils;ne) Abolish part or all of unlawful documents of People's Committees and Chairmen of District People's Committees; abolish part or all of unlawful documents of ward-level People's Councils;
