Pull over tourist and charging them 1 to 3 million dong. Just stay calm and they will try to scare you into leaving your bike for 7 days, 13 million dong in fines, just let them talk and wait. They will offer you 1.5 million in fines. Avoid the road if possible

Shocking absolutely disgusting service. They call them selfs police officers! They hunt out tourists on bikes. I had international and driving licence and I even said it’s all correct and fine. They still wanted us to pay a fine, I refused. As there wasn’t any paper work, then took it down from 2 mil to 1 mil, on route to police station while he was making calls he stopped and changed the price to 1mil I said let’s continue to police office, arrived at police after recorded our conversation and paid 500k fine, I will be contacting British embassy, took the money which was for petrol and was stranded which made us miss out train out of this place..

Worst part of my entire trip in Vietnam. There is no way through mui ne without getting caught by the police. Avoid the city all together

They prey on tourists. They stop all tourists and check for driver's license. I left mine as collateral for the rental. Fine with ticket is 2,000,000 dong. I paid under the table 500,000 dong. (They wanted 1,000,000 but as a poor student I bargained down).
