The trek is beautiful. A must visit place in Cat ba.. 1 hr to go up 1 hr to come down. I rate the trek as easy to moderate.. from the top, you can see dense forest covered with lush green trees.. if you are lucky you can see monkeys. I did not see any..

It was first established in 1986, Cat Ba National Park is the largest island in the bay of North region of Vietnam.nCat Ba National Park was designated as The World Heritage Site in 2004. It is situated in Cat Hai District, 45km east of Hai Phong City, 150km South-east of Ha Noi and shares the border with Ha Long Bay to the North.

It is a quiet space dotted with a huge variety of trees. There is a trek which takes one to the peak of Ngu Lam. Sime animals and a butterfly garden are added attractions. The facilities are not very clean. Paths are not appropriately marked and some tres don't have English names, which should be done in a botanical garden as is claimed. Entrance fee is VND 40,000.
