Kim Dong Secondary School was established in 1984. The former school was the Southern Primary School which was established in 1955. After 1975 the school was named 1,2 Phuoc Phuoc A high school and in 1990 Kim Dong Junior High SchoolnThe school was recognized by the BRVT Provincial People's Committee as a school meeting national standards for the period of 2004-2010 on May 25, 2005. The school has been awarded a certificate of merit by the Prime Minister for the period of 2000-2005, three times awarded by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2002, 2007 and 2008.
