A large pagoda, famous for its tall tower, continues to other works, a center of Buddhism in Ho Chi Minh City. OM MANI PADME HUM.
Astonishing Architecture a great hideaway from the busy traffic very peaceful and spiritual the entire area smells like a flower market great place to visit
Must see pagoda when you get Sai Gon.nFirst built in 1964 but from 1975, The Vietnam Quoc Tu campus in a period of 10 years (1975-1985) was abandoned.nnIn 1988, 1993 the pagoda was restored and renovated with more items.nnIn 2015, the Buddhist Church of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh City held a prayer ceremony to pour the bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni Buddha. The statue is 7.5m high, weighs 35 tons. The completed bronze statue will be worshiped in the main hall of Vietnam Quoc Tu and will be the largest bronze statue in the largest hall in Vietnam today.nnIn 2017, the new self-built Vietnam Country project was officially inaugurated. In particular, the 13-storey stupa, 63 meters high, beyond the meaning of symbolizing the spirit of service and unity of 13 organizations, associations and sects participating in the Buddhist nonviolent struggle for peace and peace religion in the South in 1963;nThis is also the place expected to worship the immortal heart relic of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc ( he rode the car from Hue-SaiGon to against Diem systems, car is located in Thien Mu Pagoda at the moment).
The pagoda was built in 1964, created by the Unified Buddhist Church of Vietnam on an area of more than 4 hectares donated by the Government of the Republic of Vietnam. Prime Minister of Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Khanh, then donated 10 million dong to build a pagoda.nAfter 1975, the government of the Republic of Vietnam collapsed, the new government requisitioned most of the land of the Vietnamese Quoc Tu pagoda, built the Ky Hoa entertainment area and Hoa Binh theater.nIn 1988, Venerable Tu Nhon, in the name of the former abbot, submitted an application to return the expropriated land and ownership of the Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda. After 5 years, on February 28, 1993, the government re-granted Thich Tu Nhon according to the application, but the pagoda's land was narrowed to 3,712 m2 with the original tower unfinished.nIn 1993, the pagoda was restored and renovated with many items.nIn 2014, Vietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda was completely newly built and inaugurated in November 2017 with solid and spacious architecture.nArchitecture of Vietnam Quoc Tu pagodanThe pagoda was built in the architecture of the old northern pagoda with yellow as the main color and red and brown tiled roof. The roof of the pagoda is built in many floors, the head of the roof is clawed in the shape of a blade, and is sculpted with a very sophisticated dragon head.nThe overall architecture of Vietnam Quoc Tu pagoda on a 3,700 square meter campus includes the three-door gate, the main hall, the 13-storey stupa, the Southern University Institute, the Quach Thi Trang orphanage and the shrines, the Buddha statue in the temple grounds.nVietnam Quoc Tu Pagoda is a large religious architectural work, invested and built. The large and small architectural items are solidly built, with sophisticated carvings to show the identity of ancient Vietnamese pagoda style.
Big, new pagoda. Built on site of another old historic pagoda. Not much big religious construction was built recently.
