Camellia Hotel

Nice hotel with reasonable price.nThe hotel is located in the center of Ninh Binh. Not too far to get to all the attractions. This is quite good.nBut, it is very difficult to find a good restaurant in 1km nearby the hotel. There is no restaurant in the hotel. And no supermarket nearby as well.nIn the evening, the streets nearby are quite empty and dark.

With a few adjustments, this can be a great place.nWe had a really mixed experience, but let me start with the positives. The rooms are spacious and clean, the driver we hired through the hotel was super nice, the location is ok, and I had a great time spending an evening with some of the staff after a soccer game.nUnfortunately, we also experienced a multitude of small annoyances which contributed to some serious frustration. I really don’t like to complain, so I don’t want to harp on them. So if there is one suggestion I can make, it’s that the young lady working at the front desk needs some serious retraining. Many of the issues were because she seemed oblivious to the workings of the hotel (such as not knowing how to operate the safe, real difficulties with language, and charging our credit card three times for an additional 300 dollars without knowing how to refund it).

We wanted to cancel and they gave 0 refund. Very bad service. They charged us with full price. Better stay in Tam Coc!!!

Hospitable staff, high quality services

I originally only planned on staying at Camellia hotel for one night, this easily increased to three nights and if my trip permitted I would have stayed longer. The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean. The beds are very comfortable. There is a smart TV with many channels including English movie channels. They offered Vietnamese and some western options for breakfast. The omelette was one of the better ones I've had at a hotel in SE Asia. The staff were very friendly. They offered several tips on what to do in the area and were very knowledgeable with regards to prices for attractions. There are many Vietnamese food options near by within walking distance or a small scooter ride away. When I return to Nihn Binh I will return to the Camellia Hotel!
