The two banks of Hien Luong River

The 17 parallel being the old North and South divide of Vietnam during the war as laid down by the Americans. There is a statue on the South side showing an army man looking over the Ben Hoi river to North of Vietnam looking at a further statue of his wife holding his child. History continues to repeat itself.

Hien Luong Bridge connects the two banks of the river wharf, which has gone down in history. Every time I go here, I always admire the Hien Luong flagpole here where many soldiers have sacrificed heroically to protect the beloved red flag with the yellow star of the Vietnamese Fatherland.
