if you are looking for a tourist free authentical chill out place frequented by locals in Ninh Binh City, there you are. They serve a fresh and cool Hanoi beer on draught. I recommend to order it by glass (một cóc nữa) not in a pitcher, for maximum freshness. The kitchen provides a big selection of snacks with the beer but also full menu of main courses. Crunchy sesame crisp ( bánh đá ) hot or cold sausages wrapped in leaves, the cold ones are nêm chua. They have deep fried tofu ( đau phu) with fresh herbs and smelly shrimp sauce (mắm tôm ) and also fried rice co'm rằng or fried noodles with vegetables my thom rau. No guarantee for Vietnamese spelling ;) I mentioned a few dishes, as they have the menu only in Vietnamese. For the cooler season they offer hot pots, very good value and entertainment for groups. You are sitting on either side of a quiet street.
