National Historical Museum

National Historical Museum are very welcoming to the visitor and look safe inside u can see more past history and equipment enjoying to see the oldest things have little amount to pay the entrance

Good place to visit if one loves history, well kept, staff friendly. Sadly very few people who visit this place.

This is a reasonably interesting museum with artifacts found throughout Vietnam, some of which date back 4000 years and most have descriptions in Vietnamese, English and French. The layout and displays are a little dated and I would like to have seen more information about some of the artifacts. We spent less than 2 hours here and saw all that was on display, the entrance fee is very cheap so good value for money. Like many places in Hanoi they close for a very long lunch, so check the opening times before heading this way.

The personal is very unfriendly. The exhibition is okay, but mostly pictures with a short description wasn’t seen on them but with a lack of context. I would consider myself Carly informed about Vietnamese history but still had some trouble understanding the connections and contexts of everything. It is a big collection of photographs and paintings. For basic knowledge and understanding of the history however I recommend the history museum in Saigon.

One ticket gets access to the two buildings, so you might as well visit both. The exhibits were interesting, and a good mixture. At times explanations were missing. The price was cheap and it wasn't a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
