A really nice museum ! The museum is divided into sections so you learn about the different aspects of Viet women's lives through history. Marriage, family, their role in the war, fashion... I'm sure I'm missing some others :) I really appreciated the audio tour. From the very beginning while talking about the gold statue at the entrance I felt drawn in and emotionally moved. The fashions on display are really beautiful and interesting. There are also quite a lot of videos you can sit down and watch. The one about street vendors really got to me. You should take the time to watch it and learn more about the women who inhabit and support this beautiful country :)

Not a must, but if you are in Hanoi for a while and have spare time it's a good place to visit. Interesting information about vietnamese women in history, although some parts of the exhibition are very depressing :( Vietnam has been (and still is) a sexist country, and sadly women don't have any power, sometimes they don't mean anything! They have to take care of everything, be available 24/7 for the family, they take care of the house, cook, clean, raise the children, AND work! While men just have to work, provide economically for the family. After living in Vietnam for a while I can firmly say that here men are much more respected than women. Sad to say, I am grateful I wasn't born in this close minded country. Freedom seems like a utopia.

I quite enjoyed this museum! It's interesting and diverse, but small enough that you can reasonably see all the exhibits. It presents Vietnamese culture and history through a focus on women's experiences and roles, and would be interesting for anyone. It has a good balance of displays/artifacts and contextualizing information.

Great experience. Small space but a lot of interesting information and beautiful artifacts. I particularly loved the jewelry and textiles from around the country. A wonderful place to spend a few hours to learn about the remarkable women of Vietnam.
