National Museum of History

TWO museums for £1.34nnThat's a bargain regardless of how good the museums are - but in this case, they're very good.nnThe Vietnam National Museum of History is in a fine colonial French building just behind the Opera House and is of medium size for a museum. You should allow at least a couple of hours here.nnIt has over 200,000 exhibits dating from prehistory up to the 1947 revolution and founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.nnExhibits are arranged in five major sections and there's plenty of information in English. The museum is quite modern in layout and interior design.nnWhen we visited, there were a couple of enthusiastic school groups visiting.nnStrongly recommended if you want to know about Vietnam history.nnThe ticket price also includes entry to the revolutionary museum across the road making it exceptionally good value, but this museum is old fashioned in comparison. It contains a wealth of information concerning the revolutionary period in Vietnam's history, but there is little helpful signage in English.

Nice place to visit. Nice artifacts.

A lot of historical things to see. The outdoor space is also lovely. We came just 1 hour before the museum closed so couldn't see a lot so I would suggest you to visit it early in the day.

Vietnam has lots of history. I seems to have been invaded by everyone.nThis Museum gives a good overview. Plan 1 - 2 hours.

Entrance fee was super cheap. Good exhibition. Receptionist was nice and friendly.nMinus point is the audio guide. It automatically play when you enter the related areas. Sometime u dont know if it's gonna play.
