The officer here can arrange for transport to Cau Treo / Laos border, either 5:30 am or 1:30 pm. You'll take a public bus to a small village near the border then a private truck will take you the rest of the way. I paid 220 000 all in but you'll need to negotiate additional transport in Laos to the nearest inland town, about $3 pax. Don't forget to talk to the officer at the bus terminal as he needs to arrange private transport for the last leg of the trip. You can arrange this yourself but likely pay the same or more for the inconvenience lol...
