Nguyen Trung Truc (born in Đinh Dau 1837 - died in Mau Than 1868) is a modern martyr, the leader of the anti-French uprising in Tan An (now Long An province) and Rach Gia (now Kien Giang province) , referred to as Quan Chon or Calendar. (Since his childhood was named Chon, then from the year of 1859 was changed to Calendar, and the administrator is the manager. After burning L'Esperance, he changed his name to Nguyen Trung Truc and the name was called by the people until the last day. A native of Tan An, Gia Dinh (now outside of Tan An town, Long An).n nHe came from a family fishing net downstream of the Vam Co River, in 1861, in response to the Can Vuong anti-French calendar, recruiting a number of rebellious farmers to attack French posts in the Tan An area. Having established many feats should be the court of Hue appointed officials.
