Ba Lang parish is located in Hai Thanh commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province, about 50km south of the center of Thanh Hoa city.nThree Villages are a strip of land along the coast and along the river starting from Dau Be bridge to Cua Bang, with a length of 3 km. The two ends have two mountains: Thui Mountain in the North and Do Mountain in the South. The mountain side Do is Bang river mouth flowing into the sea, meandering around the Thui mountain, making the Three Villages become a separate island. The beach is curved into a small bay. In the sea, there is Hon Me and many other small islands located opposite Ba Lang, creating a harmonious scenery of poetic nature.nHistory records that: On the very day of Saint Joseph 19.3.1627, Father Dac Lo (Alexandre de Rhodes) and Father Marquez, on the way to preach in Dang Ngoai, set foot on Cua Bang in Do Xuyen village, now in Hai Thanh commune, Tinh Gia district, Thanh Hoa province. After more than two months of preaching, the missioners baptized 32 people.nWith that humble first number, thanks to the grace of divine providence and through the active work of the preachers, the Christian community in Cua Bang after 382 years (1927 - 2009) has really matured.nAs a parish that received the seed of the Gospel very early on, the piety and spirit of building the Church of the Three Villages is manifest in a clear way.
