Booked a 3day trek with Bac Ha Tourist. Lovely tour, beautiful landscapes. Guide Sa was good. Homestays are basic but friendly hosts and lots of corn wine. We had very good vegetarian food at the homestays. Recommended.

Unfortunately we trusted Mr Nghe was he was recmended in the lonely planet guide.nnWe intended to travel from bac ha to Lao Cai to Sapa on the local buses, however Mr Nghe informed us of a different bus we could take, A DIRECT bus to SAPA! Two and a half hours!nDon't be fooled they are both a lie there is NO DIRECT BUS TO SAPA!nnWhat turned up to take us was a local bus to Lao Cai. Not to mention it smelled foul and turned up half and hour late.nThe only difference is that he had charged us 200,00 VNDper person instead of the 60,000 it would Lao Cai and 50,000 VND to SAPA! So he profits nearly 100,000 VND per person he scams.nSame racket as Lao Cai different town. DO NOT TRUST MR NGHE or his tourism company.nThis experience left a foul taste in my mouth as we left Bac Ha which would otherwise be a beautiful place to visit.
