This island is the standard destination for all of the 1-day Mekong Delta tours coming from Saigon, as it's the closest to the city, about two hours by bus. After a short boat ride from the boat terminal in the small city of My Tho on the banks of the river, you're dropped off in what the Vietnamese call an Eco-tourism area, where you'll experience a commercialized version of rural life along the Mekong. You can buy local products such as honey and coconut candy, try the local tropical fruits, see performances of traditional folk music, and of course buy souvenirs like the traditional conical hats. The highlight of the visit is a short paddle boat ride on a small canal lined with lush water coconut trees that winds it's way from the center of the island back to the island shore.

First time in Vietnam. My husband and I were greeted by hotel staff with a platter of home made sweets, biscuits and flowers as it was our 15 year wedding anniversary. The room was clean, spacious with all amenities. Hotel staff were caring and attentive.nBreakfast had a variety of food and choice.nWe treated ourselves to a massage at the spa, very professional and relaxing.nHotel is in a good location, walking distance to many attractions like Saigon Square. There are many coffee shops and food places around. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Good tour of the Mekong river delta and good food for lunch

Very enjoyable boat ride.nThe people here make $1 a day. Please bring presents and give them tips, they would appreciate and change their lives.
