This museum built in 2014 is old style with many objects and photos, but absolutely no explanations to understand the events. Some quotes are only in Vietnamese, and someone would wonder if it's laziness or done on purpose.nThe beginning of the exhibition starts with a fairly neutral presentation of the preparation for the battle, however more it goes on more it gets propagandistic, ending on the ''clemency of Vietnamese people'' concerning the prisonners, when 8000 of them ended dying in war prisonners' camps with no medication, or on the way to get there (no word about that).nMaybe the lack of explanations is beneficial to the visitor as he/she will have to get informed more objectively by himself.

Must-go place to go to understand why France selected Dien Bien Phu as strategy center during war with Vietnam, and how Vietnamese army & people fight & found the way to overome all challenges. Unbelievable and sure, we all feel too much emotional and easy to cry when you hear the story. Be proud of what people did, and keep working to make ud83cuddfbud83cuddf3 better.

Pretty good exhibition detailing how the victory wss achieved and surprisingly sympathic to the French soldiers. Well worth the visit if you are in town.

Well arranged museum with architecture of building was design to resemble the fortress. You need to buy ticket to access the place but it worth the buck. Inside you will walk thru a series of historical event that took place in 1954. Don't miss the museum theater where the actual footage was used to make you understand what happen here.
