Traffic Police Department of Dong Nai Province

Corruption. A friend and I( I don’t live in Vietnam, went back for visit) was driving toward Dong Nai. Policemen stand on sidewalks and pointed the stick and waved the all riders passing through included my friendnin an aggressive way to ask for paper, my friend and I almost fell from being scared ( even though riders didn’t break any traffic laws). Lots of riders in the same position as we. The ways they stopped riders and asked for papers like to pull ducks or chickens not the ways to treat Vietnamese citizens. Unfortunately my friend didn’t bring paper she forgot at home( which I understand is her fault) and did ask if he could give her a warning .The cop that talking to her threatening her to take the car away. They talked back and forth she begs for forgiveness and he wants to take her car. She got scared because she didn’t want her parents know she was in trouble. Like 5 minutes talk back and forth the police told her if she give him 1600000 Vietnamese Dong he will release her. ... and the police rushed my friend to give money so they would go have lunch. We didn’t break any traffic laws from the beginning and to ask for paper they needed “Chuyen de”. I was shocked and wanted to say something but my friend prevented me to avoid problems. Authorities who know and understand the law and work under the laws doing things like that. Vietnamese citizens paying taxes for those corrupted cops to serve people. Laws should be more strict and authority should treat their people with more respect.. hope Vietnam in a couple years will be better and hire people that willing to serve and do the right things and fairness to all people because everyone is the same under the laws but I don’t think that applied in Vietnam. Sad for the country I was born.

Now you can pay the fine here and no need to go to treasury office.

New headquarters, the way to serve the people needing more improvement. Officers should have predicate subjects when speaking, especially the soldiers at the door to receive records. The room is small and crowded, the room of the Head of Traffic Police is the largest in this area. Taxpayers should be better served.

Disappointment about the service team of arrogant way of speaking, proverbs of the people by the people and for the people but behaviors of individuals.
