I was driving the Ha Giang loop towards Ba Be lake. After hanging out and enjoying the view of the lake I was looking for somewhere close to stay the night and saw the Thai An Home stay was not too far so made my way there on a road that may not be in the best condition in parts but is fun to drive and offers impressive views as you round the lake. The home is beautiful and the family were very welcoming. I was alone in a room with two double beds which was basic but cozy and pleasant. I was offered dinner which I agreed to and had an amazing shower which I needed after a long day on the road. I was sitting out on the balcony/terrace (which also has lovely views) when the food arrived and I assumed there must be other guests because there was no way I could eat so much but it was all for me. The food was amazing and I made a good attempt at finishing it. The next morning the little boy who lives there came up to the balcony with his toy trucks and I played with him for a while. Packing up to leave, he followed me into my room. I remembered some chocolate cupcakes I had left in my bag and gave him one. I think it was his first one ever because I had to tell him not to eat the paper wrapper. I gave him the last one and made to leave where I was waved off after checking out. If I ever get back to Ba Be lake I would hope to stay here again.

We had amazing 2 nights here! The view is beautiful and the family is so nice! They make us amazing and delicious meals! took us to a tour in the lake and offered us to rent bikes. They were willing to help us with everything, including the bus in the way back. Them kids are so cute and we enjoyed playing with them.

We stayed for 1 night here and we had a dinner with the family...Really nice place and above all, really nice people ! I recommend it !

Nice place, owner super friendly prepared super dinner and delicious breakfast, recommended for sure if you're around here
