Good piece of history
A collapsed cathedral, a place with a history of martyrdom, where Catholics must first know the history of martyrdom, so they will not be disappointed.
Hai Duong temple was built in 1927. At that time, it was the largest martyr's shrine in Vietnam. The unique point of the Holy Temple is that it was built on the courthouse where the faithful witnessed the faith, of which four were raised in canon in 1988, the Rector Jerome Liem ), Fr. Valentin Vinh (Bishop of Central Vietnam), Fr. Peter Amat Binh (auxiliary to Bishop Vinh) and Joseph Nguyen Duy Khang (Bishop of Liem). Both Bishop and Father Binh were arrested on November 1, 1861; Joseph Nguyen Duy Khang was sentenced on December 6, 1861. Since the first three times of the feast of All Saints (1.11), the superiors decided on November 6 to be the feast day for the four martyrs of Hai Duong.n nTheir trial is a five-district, suburban Hai Duong. In 1907, a small church was built to honor them. By 1927, the great shrine was officially built, with a length of 65m, 18m wide, two towers each 30m high, according to Greek-Greco-Byzantine architecture, designed by the French architect Lagisquet.nnIn the morning of July 1, 1967, US planes dropped bombs to destroy the city's railway station, to cut off the Hai Phong-Hanoi railway. Unfortunately, two bombs hit the shrine and destroyed almost completely.
According to historian Vicent Bui Duc Sinh, who served as a priest at Hai Duong parish and was at Hai Duong disciples' school, Hai Duong martyrdom temple was built in 1927. At that time, here is the largest martyr's temple in Vietnam. The uniqueness of the Temple is built right on the school grounds, where the witnesses of the faith have been treated, of which four have been raised to the final in 1988, Bishop Jesus Jerome (Bishop of the Eastern diocese) ), Bishop Valentin Vinh (Bishop of Central diocese), Father Peter Amata Binh (assistant priest of Bishop Vinh) and teacher Joseph Nguyen Duy Khang (help Bishop Liem). The two Bishops and Father Binh were tried on November 1, 1861; Joseph Nguyen Duy Khang was tried on 6.12.1861. Because of the first tribunal trial coincides with the Feast of the Saints (1.11), the superior decided on the 6th November every year to be the feast of the four martyrs of Hai Duong.nHis treatment area is a five-model area, a suburb of Hai Duong. In 1907, a small church was built to honor them. By 1927, the Great Temple was officially built, with a length of 65m, width of 18m, two towers of 30m each, according to Roman architecture Grec-Byzantin, designed by French architect Lagisquet.nIn the morning of July 1, 1967, American planes intended to drop bombs to destroy the city's train station, in order to cut off the Hai Phong - Hanoi railway. Unfortunately, the two bombs hit the Temple and nearly destroyed. The special feature of the Holy Temple is that it is built of stone, with a basement used to serve small pilgrimage groups, a chapel, a parking space and a number of rooms for pilgrims.nThe overall planning of the Holy Temple area is over 3,000m², divided as follows: Area 1 of nearly 1,000m² will be used as a museum, keeping artifacts related to the four martyrs and relics of the Old Temple. Area 2 nearly 400m² is used to build houses of the service of the Holy Temple. Area 3 over 1,700m², formerly the School of Disciples, is now used to build a new Temple.nThe new temple is expected to be officially opened in December. The project is expected to be built within 2 years.
