Up to now, this archaeological site has passed 6 excavations with a total area of ​​758 m2 and has discovered many ancient relics, thousands of artifacts, diverse types, materials and designs. Among them are stone artifacts like hundreds of axes, chisels and lots of jewelry such as bracelets, earrings, beads. Besides, there are many objects such as tuberculosis, arrows, puncher, drill bits made of animal bones. Many spears, needles, molds, plows, arrows, chopsticks are crafted from copper and a lot of pottery such as containers, ceramic pots, pottery statues ...nWith many artifacts found in Dong Dau archaeological site, this is the most clear evidence of the relic of ancient Vietnamese people in the center of the Northern Delta. Dong Dau archaeological site is the basis for determining the criteria of the development stages of the Red River basin culture with 4 classes: Phung Nguyen, Dong Dau, Go Mun and Dong Son.nThe ancient Vietnamese people were present in this land very early and gained the original stone-making technique at the Phung Nguyen cultural stage. Next is the period of Dong Dau with the development of pottery, the period of Go Mun pottery developed a new step. Finally, Dong Son culture with brightly developed bronze.nWith the appearance of four periods of archaeological culture on a site, Dong Dau archaeological relic has a stable and long-term development of the ancient Vietnamese and formed the first state.nDong Dau archaeological relic is still protected intact, becoming an excavation site for many archaeologists. Dong Dau site is an archaeological site in Dau Mound, Dong village, Yen Lac town, Yen Lac district, Vinh Phuc province, Vietnam. The relic is about 8.5 hectares wide, about 1.5 kilometers east of the town center. Here, in February 1962, the first archaeological sites were discovered. Up to now, researchers have conducted 6 excavations and discovered thousands of artifacts of the four cultural layers of Phung Nguyen, Dong Dau, Go Mun and Dong Son overlapping each other. This finding allows researchers to confirm that Dong Son culture has an indigenous origin.nIt is here that there exists a strata of a culture dating back to about 1,500 years BC, after the Phung Nguyen culture, so the researchers took the name Dong Dau to give to this culture.
