Quoc Khanh Bamboo Homestay

5 star stunning view, Food 4, but the suite bungalow was really bad. bathroom floor constantly wet from sink & shower leaking, very cold with no heat source, walls are bamboo with lots of space between bamboo, so noise & air infiltration. Would NOT recommend this lodging, but come & visit for coffee & a meal.

It’s a lovely, small, cozy Homestay, next to a small lake. The service is par excellent. My daughter left a precious toy behind and she was so sad when we were back in Hanoi. the staff was so helpful and found ways to deliver the toy back to us in Hanoi the next day!nnThe only thing I would like to point out is for the owners to enhance the beauty, and not over developed the area. You can charge slightly more to ensure upkeep of the place

1st impression with this place was not good.nWe arrived in the rain and hotel staff waited under shelter instead of helping us move our baggage in.nThen we were informed that there would be a 3% surcharge on our payment if we decide to use credit card, which was the option we preferred as we were low on cash.nAfter the staff told us that they weren't able to process card payments at the moment, she suggested that our passports be kept with them until the payment was made.nJust had an overall unpleasant check-in process.nnStaff saw me looking online to compare prices with what they're charging for train ticket booking, and just told me that I can go ahead and do my own booking if I want.nIt can also get quite noisy around here.

The view is amazing from the hostel and the rooms clean and comfortable. But the service... Every time we wanted to order food we had to wait a very long time and where confused if we should order by the counter but nooo. Food was okey not more.nnI did my laundry there and didn’t check it until I got to the next place some clothes where still dirty and they had broken one blouse. It was clear that they knew about it because the missing piece was folded inside the blouse. I get mostly angry because they didn’t say anything. And we asked them to book a bus for us but they booked it the wrong day. A mistake that shouldn’t happen but we got on the bus last minute anyway. And we woke up in the morning because one of the boys that where working there didn’t want to get up and started screaming in the dorm.

Overall experience was terrible. First, when we reached here in the rain, no staff is willing to come out and help us. They also kept us waiting in cold even thought they could bring umbrella and show us the room. Second, they asked to keep our passports before the room payment is made, we decided to pay first since they can't trust us. Third, the surrounding of the room is not safe with the gap between the bamboo window, they always have staff outside around our room and I don't feel safe at all as they can easily peak in. Forth, we asked for their help to get train ticket to Hanoi and the receptionist said he won't help unless we book their expensive taxi too. Fifth, it can get really noisy at night.nnOverall very disappointed.
