Trang An Farm Stay

I felt so privileged to have met Mr Hoat and his family, who have created magical and beautifully crafted bungalows amongst lush and colourful gardens. The accomodation was spotless and luxurious using timbers, tiles and carved details with a contemporary edge. The staff were endlessly thoughtful. The setting is really out of this world, and you will never forget this place, if you are ever lucky enough to visit.

Wonderfully peaceful place, surrounded by mountains and lush country side. Beautiful bamboo bungalows, clean and comfortable, and you feel one with nature. Free breakfast and the restaurant serves good food for lunch and dinner. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Not bad, but not great either. The food is awesome, the rooms look good and a new American woman is there to assist you with your questions.nnNevertheless the showers were cold after a few minutes, the water pressure was low and at the moment we went, it was quite cold weather. They only provided us with a small heater. They tried to help us out as good as they could, and gave us also some extra blankets. But in the bathroom it was freezing cold though.nnAlso, they charge 400k for 2 day scooter renting while in the hotel next to it, it is only 230k. We booked it in the other hotel.nnThe view is definitely not bad, but there are some hotels around with a much better view in my opinion.nnThey want to do better, but they still have some working points.

It's well worth the journey from Hanoi. Here's why I loved it:nn1. They continue to run a restaurant on location, as they have done for over ten years. The food preparation is excellent, and you have the opportunity to join them for family dinner if you wish.nn2. Everyone on the farm works extremely hard to make sure that you have a great experience. Though not everyone speaks English, they are quick to meet you with a smile and courtesy.nn3. The bungalows are very beautiful and made with natural materials. We slept very well.nn4. Motorbike rentals! This area is great for novices. The roads are wide and there is not nearly as much traffic. Within a short ride from some amazing sights -- they will tell you the best way to get there.nn5. The other guests and us were given a very extensive tour of the area by bicycle. We stayed at the farm in comfort, but they also gave us a great taste of adventure.nn6. You cannot beat the view. There's a stillness to it... Just get there already.

We spent 3 days in the Farm and despite the fact that was raining for most o f the time (March 2015) we enjoyed the place and the unusual bungalow all made with natural material. There is a special atmosphere in the farm and in the surrounding. Avic, the owner, was very helpful and available for all the information.
