In 1954, Father Vincent Tran Van Lap led about 1,500 Catholics from the North to the land of Vinh Thanh, Nhon Trach and Bien Hoa settling down and making Nghia My Parish. At the beginning, Father Vincentê and the Nghia My community built a makeshift church with rudimentary materials as a place to offer and pray. In 1969, Father Dinh Vu Toan Vu replaced Father Vincent to oversee the Parish. In addition to taking care of the faith life for the community, Father Dominic and the laity rebuilt the church with bricks and wood with dimensions of 13m x 28m. Four years later, Father Joseph Nguyen Huong Mach was appointed to the parish of Nghia My. Under the direction of Father Joseph, the My American community grew in faith and love. In 1989, Father Peter Mai Van Sam succeeded Father Joseph. While serving the Parish, Father Joseph and the Nghia My community started construction and inauguration of a spacious church with an area of ​​705 m2 (1996) and parish house (2000). Through the treasures of the parish priest, the parish activities have gone into order.
