In 1972, people in cities tended to go to the countryside for farming. In the same year, Father Joseph Duc Duc of Nam Hoa - Saigon and Father Baotixita Luong Hoang Kim sent some parishioners to the forest south of Tra Co 1A about 3 km to reclaim land and set up camp Love. On August 15, 1973, Father John Baotixita celebrated the first Mass at Tinh Thuong with about 40 parishioners. After 1975, with the policy of extending the new economy, many parishioners from the city came to join Tinh thuong. At this time, the community of Love built a temporary chapel (10m x 25m) to be the place of worship and prayer. On July 8, 1975, Bishop Dominic Nguyen Van Lang established the parish of Giang Dien and sent Father Augustin Maria Dang Ngoc Huong as the first parish priest. In 1980, the community of Giang Dien parish repaired the old chapel with a clay wall, straw roof (33m x 19m). A year later, Father Augustine and the community celebrated the first Mass in the chapel. On December 18, 1993, the community of Giang Dien parish started the construction of a new church (24m x 20m) and inaugurated on January 4, 1995. Currently, under the direction of Father Anthony M.
