History of Long Thuan ParishnnThe process of formation and developmentnnIn 1972, Father Hyppolito Nguyen Truong Sanh led relatives of overseas Vietnamese to repatriate Cambodia with a number of people in the central provinces to come to Xuan Hung to establish and establish Long Thuan Church. In the same year, Father Daminh Tran Van Nguyen led some Catholics from Binh Long province to Xuan Hoa commune to live and form the Sacred Heart III.nnIn 1974, Reverend Dominic Nguyen Van Lang raised the Long Thuan Church and the Sacred Heart III to the parish.nnIn 1975, Sacred Heart Church III no longer existed. From 1975 - 1989, the population of these two parishes was up to 6,000, but only a temporary church (Long Thuan) was badly damaged. At this time, Father Paul Huynh Ngoc Canh and Father Joseph Mai Xuan Quarter managed the two Parishes respectively.nnIn 1989 Father Thomas Tran Van Dai took charge of the two Parishes. In the same year, Reverend Paul Maria merged Long Thuan and Xuan Hoa parishes (Sacred Heart III) into a parish with the name Long Thuan Parish.nnFather Thomas and Long Thuan parishioners took turns to build and inaugurate the parish house (1990), the church (1994), the bell tower (1995), the catechist (1998).
