In 1974, Father Thomas Nguyen Minh led 252 Catholic families from Binh Long, Phu Cuong diocese to Gia Ray (Tan Thanh commune) to make a living and form missionaries. A year later, this community was raised to a parish and named St. Mau II. After 1975, the parish had very few families, no priests, but parishioners were still active and praying daily. During this period, Brother Joseph Le Nhu Sac returned to his local residence and he helped to gather the community together every Sunday to meditate on the Word of God and on major holidays such as Christmas and Easter with the Father on Mass. for the community. In 1981, the Congregation of Saint Mau II built a temporary church with wooden walls, a corrugated iron roof as a place for worshiping and praying. Through the times of the parish priest, the faith life of Xuan Thanh community has been strengthened and developed in love. In 1994, Father Paul Nguyen Van Nhan was appointed to care for the community of Saint Mau II. Four years later, the Parish Thanh Mau II was renamed Xuan Thanh Parish. In 2000, Father Benedict Nguyen Phi Hanh succeeded Father Paul in charge of Xuan Thanh Parish. Two years later, Father Daminh Vo Van Thong was appointed to serve the community of Xuan Thanh. Father Daminh and parishioners Xuan Thanh started construction and inaugurated the church (2010) with neighboring works.
