In 1964, Archbishop Paul Nguyen Van Binh for the first time gave the sacrament of Confirmation to their children of Gia Ray religion. After 1975, the chapel disappeared and some parishioners moved to another place. From 1976 to 1992, the predecessor fathers stood out to call and gather lay people to help the community maintain the faith. In 1993, this community was raised to Catholic surname by Bishop Paul Maria Nguyen Minh Nhat and named Francis Xavier with about 95 Catholic families. At first, they borrowed a temporary house from the parishioners to make a place for religious activities and the community to grow stronger in faith and love.
