COP Sperwan Ghar

Wonderful wine country, stay on the paved sidewalks. Would be five stars if it wasn't for the occasional PKM burst.

The views were great . You could see all around Panjwai from here. Leaving the base could be difficult due to ambushes and IEDs but with enough close air support you were good to go. Night time was dangerous but we made it out alright. Only downfall were the locals trying to over run the base alot. They seem to think complex ambushes were going to help the neighborhood and would shoot from the school but the MGS on the north side seemed to help the problem. Dining facility and mail were sporadic like most of the places in Panjwai. I would probably visit again if I had the opportunity. I would not advise going in spring as that's when they run their offensives but fall harvest might be a good time.
