Tirana International Airport

Flew in and out of this airport from Budapest. The passport control on the way in was efficient, as was the check in on the way out. Could use a larger duty free, but it is a small airport.

Compact capital airport. There is a lounge to which Star Alliance Gold holders are eligible to enter, if you are flying Air Albania

Absolutely the worse airport I ever seen. Full incompetence to manage a queqe system allowing 3 people standing per row. The manager have to go learning from other international Airport how to do the job.

Noisy, crowded terminal. No ATM while all the restaurants are CASH ONLY. Madness. Wizzair doesn't have online check-in for some reason and the passengers are not allowed to check in earlier than 2 hours prior to departure. The check-in crew turns on the overhead display with the brand logo (eg Wizzair) and queue type (eg economy/priority) when you've spent a long time in the queue already so if you stood at the wrong queue, you get refused and forced to re-queue at the other queue. Office clerks are impatient and rude. The announcement dispatcher speaks rapidly with no intonation, mispronouncing English words resulting in announcements that are mostly impossible to understand. Flight delay information is sent personally via email but in the overhead there's no information available other than the initial default listing. I'm just glad the airport functions at all. This could be worse, I mean I'm still alive and didn't starve for more than a few hours...

No possiblity to sit down anywhere while waiting for the check-in to open -- neither outside nor inside.
