After this adventurous road, asphalt feels like floating and the espresso tastes twice as good! Who would have thought that our little caddy survived this adventure.

The worst dining experience in the whole holiday in Albania !!! And to say that in 2 weeks we turned from north to south almost everywhere! On the way back to Tirana we thought of going to Berat via a non-existent state road that would be impenetrable to say the least if you do not have an off-road vehicle and we came across this bar restaurant which is the only thing in these parts! Fatigued we thought we would take something and then leave again. As soon as we entered this restaurant we noticed that the few tables were full of leftover food. Probably a large group had passed there before us for a lunch and you could see chicken scraps, chips, the birkes (which would be their triangles of puff pastry) vegetables and more, left over on the plate! A kind and smiling lady approaches, we take two fanta and she insists on making us eat something. We ask for a menu but the lady tells us that they don't have it. So in the end we take some chicken with a simple salad. She walks away and from that moment on we witness the food recycling process between the tables. An elderly gentleman (perhaps the owner) starts taking chicken with his hands in the food left in the dishes. Look at the pieces intact and then take them to the kitchen. We thought they were for animals, given the usual amount of stray dogs present everywhere. Then comes another guy, younger, and picks up the byreks by putting them in a tray. Then select the advanced chicken bones in another container and take them out ... calling the dogs. At that precise moment we regretted having taken the chicken! The recycling process has continued. The elderly gentleman continued to take more chicken from the tables and put it in a container this time. The hands were not enough. So we realized that the first chicken we chose was probably ours !!! Following the fruit, bananas, apples, grapes ... in short, the fruit that had not been cut ... and go! In the kitchen!! After a while the "kind" mora arrives ... with only one salad, a plate of yoghurt cream (which we hadn't asked for and we didn't want), bread and two forks. After a while the chicken arrives in a pyramid-shaped dish. We looked at each other with terror in our eyes! We started eating and the chicken was actually dry and hard. Obviously warm, but clearly warmed up later. Pieces scattered between packages and carcasses. As plates we got two saucers of those used for tea cups! We asked for glasses that never arrived. Then some napkins that were made to wait for a couple of knives of which only one came. Our requests were handled with annoyance. The recycling process from the tables continued incessantly and perhaps we were disturbing. But the scandalous part came in the request for the account: 2000 lek In 2! Those who have been to Albania recently know that for us Italians they are not even 20 euros, but 1200 lek for a dry chicken dish recycled from other advanced dishes, in Albania it is really too much !!! Obviously we are Italian, so I took the money who saw them again !!! Unfortunately, to avoid quarrels with people who did not speak our language but barely a bit of English, we paid and left indignant! I want to add that in 2 weeks we came across nice, helpful and disinterested people !!! The tourist attracts the rip-off I know but I will not do all the fuss. I just want to warn you that dishonest people are everywhere and if they don't bring you the menu, get up and go away !!! Too bad not having read the previous review.
